bathrobes, bikinis/swimming trunks, shorts and bathing shoes. Topless bathing is taboo in Sri Lanka. Guests are advised to bring a jumper and sturdy footwear for day excursions to the cooler mountain regions.
Light shawls for the head and shoulders provide excellent protection from the sun. Appropriate clothing is required for visits to temples and other sanctuaries (women: knees and shoulders covered; men: long trousers).
Sun cream with a high protection factor and insect repellent are also essential travel items. German plugs can be used here. Although mobile phone reception is not available everywhere, all rooms have a landline connection. |
